Fashion's Night Out...

FNO 2010 was definitely a hit. Considering the fact that thousands of people all over New York City shopped until they dropped, it was really successful. Maybe even a little too successful. Last year Anna Wintour did not expect so many people to show up, so she made last night even bigger. Last night thousands of people crammed SoHo, blocked Broadway and the tiny cobblestone streets, in hopes of seeing celebs like Andre Leon Tally, Gwen Stefani, Karl Lagerfeld, and many others. At one point, people started running on top of the cars that were gridlocked! It was actually quite scary! But nonetheless amazing to witness. So many fashionable people out (way passed 11 by the way) and about shopping and stimulating the fashion economy. So here is my night in pictures!

First, I went to my first show of the season, at the tents. It was the College of Arts I think, and it was amazing. I'll post about that later...

Zoe and I taking a Myspace picture...

Zoe is so fierce! Loved the sheer shirt and lace bra combo, and the vintage leather jacket.

Radomly a huge FNO double-decker bus just popped up and picked us up from Lincoln Center and drove us to SoHo. It was so amazing! We sat on the top and waved to EVERYONE, like it was a big party. It was my first time on a tour bus, and I've always wanted to go! And the best thing was....it was totally free!

Met these girls on the street, loved the second from left girl's outfit! Really digging the fur vest!

Jose Camacho, working that necklace and black jacket. He's always fierce.

Jose, Audrey, Lauren, and Zoe. They all have great style and I love Audrey's vintage feel. She always dresses like this!

Jeffrey Cambell leopard wedges. SO CUTE. Gotta love Sydney!

Loved the long skirts here and the first from the right's sweater!

Such a great combo of the shirt and bow-tie. Speaking of which, I did not wear one because EVERYONE is wearing bow-ties now. It was my thing before, and now I feel like I blend in. But this couple is really cute!

This guy is amazing. Assman I think... But his shirt is from Viktor and Rolf. So cool! Love the detailing all over the shirt!

Loved these outfits. She made them herself! The dress is so cute, and paired well with the knit cape!

I really liked this outfit, mostly because of the color! Such a deep satin color in person!

Need I say more?

This guy is so cool! Started his own magazine DirtyDurty. Shoes are amazing, I don't even need to tell you. I'm not going to say where he got them or who they're by because I'm just really jealous myself and will cry. He talked to us for a while giving us advice on how to have a successful blog. Content comes first! (so let me know if I suck lol)

I LOVE HER OUTFIT! The jacket from a second-hand shop and the vintage Chanel, MELTS MY HEART! She looked so cute! So glad I spotted her before I got on the train!

So that was pretty much a summary of my night. I always joke that I need my own reality show! New York is so amazing, and the people really make it amazing. You can meet some pretty random, cool people anywhere you go and learn things you never thought you would know. I don't think I'm leaving NY for college. Maybe if I go to London. But New York is where it's at. Especially on September 10th!! FNO 2010 was such a hit, and I can't wait to hear all my other friend's stories soon!

School Supply Shopping in STYLE.

Hey guys...just wanted to fill you in on a little something.
Was I the only one who didn't know that Marc Jacob's Bookstore opened Saturday?
The cute little store sells books as well as notebooks and supplies...everything you need to have a stylish school year. And from what I hear, the prices are super low...

FNO: The Show

In case you missed the show....it was amazing!

Fashion Week!! (and the bags I'm taking)

OMG. This next week is going to be CRAZY! I have five shows I'm working for, one of which I have to be at the tents at 5:30am, so I have to see how school fits into this whole schedule. I was also just invited to another show Friday night, right before Fashion's Night Out...which I still don't know what I'm doing yet.

The show is the Academy of Art University, which is the only Fashion Graduate School to show at Fashion Week. It seems like it's going to be really awesome, and I can't wait! I'm taking none other than the fabulous Zoe Baker...whose blog is under construction....Hopefully my bag from Taipei will arrive soon, so I can take it to all the shows!

I'm also taking this bag...that my best friend Adriana made, the picture isn't the most recent, as it's still under construction here. I recently saw it and it looks AMAZING. Like 10X better!

And we can't forget my Bottega...I've been using this for a while and am really feeling it all of a sudden!

And no party is complete without my signature fur bag I made from an Ikea rug....which is going to be in Complex Magazine...They're going on sale soon!!!

And finally, I'm making Zoe wear this purse to the show on Friday night....I found it in a closet one day...

Let me know what you think on the bags! And I'm having those giveaways soon! Right after Fashion Week!

Too much to explain!

Alright, so it's been a VERY busy week.
And it's only going to get busier!
As you know, I've been interning for a casting director, Zan Ludlum. She's super awesome and buys me lunch and snacks EVERYDAY!
Anyway, we've been casting for FIVE shows, including Christian Cota, Bill Blass, and Vera Wang. It's been a rollercoaster working from 12 hour days sometimes, but it's so much fun.

Today I met Vera Wang, and she told me her clothes would look better on me than on some of the girls we were casting....lol! I died.
There's so much to learn in the Fashion Business, and I'm definitely soaking it all up like a sponge! I also went to Christian Cota, to help cast girls for his show. His collection looks AMAZING! He's up for an award, so tomorrow Anna Wintour is coming by to preview his collection. Too bad I have school...Or I would be there working with the girls and catch a glimpse of her...

Anyway, I helped make the boards for casting the girls, which shows our first choices, and then second, and then third and so on!

Fall necesssities on a beach.

I came across this editorial from Vogue Nippon (October) and I love the styling!

Loving the fur sleeves! So cool! And unique!
I like the idea of mixing fur and sweater-fabric together. The ultimate warmth!
I want a coat lined with fur! My friend and I are going to buy coats froma thrift store and line them ourselves with fur we get from IKEA!
Loving the simplicity of this dress! And the green trench is so cute! I love these colors combined!
I just chose this for the boots and socks! A great way to dress for Fall is to wear knee-length or thigh-length socks! Super chic!

red white and green

Favorite looks of the day

Here are my favorite looks of the day!
I liked this look because at first I thought it was a romper, but then I realized it was two pieces. I love the shape it creates, and the orange underneath!

I liked her leather shorts, and it's awesome how she paired them with this cool vintage patchwork shirt!

I love how she added the camel tank over the white transparent button-up from American Apparel. It's so cute and such a great pair!

Tucker for Target!

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts. My charger for my mac died and I'm waiting on a replacement...I managed to snag my mom's computer (which is really hard because she works like non-stop and often leaves her computer and charger at work).

Anyway, I just wanted to post some news! Tucker for Target's lookbook has finally been released (about three days ago)! I really like some of the pieces! Check them out, and tell me what you think! They go on sale in store and online on the 12th!
I'm loving this jersey jumpsuit! And that mini trench is so cute!

LANVIN FOR H&M

Lanvin for H&M!
You have no idea how excited I am for this! The collection preview is released on November 2nd, just three weeks before they go on sale! And get this...Apparently there will be 30 pieces and 15 accessories for women, and 25 pieces and 10 accessories for men!!!!
I like this new idea of H&M going luxury, rather than Lanvin going cheap!

Today's observations

I noticed a few things today:

 The LBD (Little Black Dress)

Loving the a-symmetrical shape of this dress! Normally I don't like one shoulder, but this is so simple and cute!

More sheer fabrics....
Hit up American Apparel for this shirt!

And some other of my favorites of the day:

I just really like the zipper on this skirt. I wonder if it actually unzips. That would be pretty cool.
I loved her leather skirt, although in this picture it seems out of proportion to her upper half. She also looked really cute in those glasses!
This was perhaps my favorite outfit of the day, because it was the perfect dress for her! I loved the fall color, and it's nice to have something so simple paired with the black stockings and brown booties! It also seems very comfortable. It reminds me of that purple Miu Miu dress that was featured in every fall magazine!

My first day at work!

Hey guys. Sorry the posts haven't been coming as frequently as they used to. I recently got an internship at Zan Ludlum, a model casting agency. Zan cast me for my Yahoo ad, as well as my Interview Magazine shoot! Anyway, it's super fun working here with all the 6-foot models stomping around. Since new models come in every day from the top modeling agencies in New York, I thought I would post some of their outfits each day, if I noticed trends or just liked what they were wearing! So something new to look forward to every day!

I noticed two trends today that I liked, and those were sheer fabrics and chic minimalism.
please observe:

I saw a lot of sheer fabrics today, something I think is really awesome when done correctly. It's no surprise since it was 95 degrees today! Wearing sheer fabric is sexy when it's revealing, but only truly chic when not too revealing. I know a ton of models get this look done on the cheap by shopping at American Apparel, (which is where the last shirt is from). Nice swimwear not included.

The next trend I saw was a sense of clean minimalism. This can be achieved by essentially wearing as little as possible, but most importantly solid colors and simple, form-fitting things. For example, they all are wearing solid, fitted minis. Get one and simply pair it with a simple tank or blouse, and if you're feeling a little frisky (or cold), add a nice, clean-cut jacket to it. The key to this is thinking simple. Sometimes a little goes a long way.
